About Brandon Gonzalez
Brandon Gonzalez is a criminal defense attorney based in Miami, Florida, where he was born and raised. A proud graduate of Florida International University College of Law, Mr. Gonzalez began his legal career at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where he gained extensive litigation and courtroom experience. Over the course of his tenure as a prosecutor, he handled thousands of cases and successfully took over a dozen to trial, ranging from misdemeanor DUI offenses to first-degree felonies, including charges of attempted murder and narcotics trafficking.
Mr. Gonzalez’s legal career commenced in County Court, where he managed over a thousand misdemeanor cases, with a particular focus on DUI proceedings. He was quickly promoted to Juvenile Court, where he prosecuted a broad array of juvenile misdemeanor and felony offenses. Advancing further, he served as a Felony Prosecutor in the courtroom of the Honorable Judge Cristina Miranda, handling numerous second- and third-degree felony cases. Due to his exemplary performance, he was promoted to the “B” prosecutor position under the Honorable Judge Milton Hirsch, where he managed serious felonies such as sexual battery, aggravated assault and battery, and DUI cases involving serious bodily injury. His final promotion placed him as the “A” prosecutor in the same division, where he handled first-degree felonies and life-punishable offenses, including career criminal cases and attempted murder.
Education and Early Career
Mr. Gonzalez’s educational background reflects his dedication to public service and legal excellence. At Florida International University College of Law, he was awarded the Merit Scholarship in recognition of his community engagement. He participated in the prestigious Moot-Madrid Arbitration Competition, competing against top-tier law schools from around the world, and served as a senior editor of the Arbitration Journal. Demonstrating his commitment to service, Mr. Gonzalez volunteered with the Wills and Trusts Clinic and the Immigration Clinic, where he assisted families with citizenship applications and estate planning. For his efforts, he received the Pro Bono Service Award for contributing more hours of free legal service than any other student in his class.
Mr. Gonzalez holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from Florida State University and is an alumnus of Christopher Columbus High School. With deep ties to his community and a passion for justice, he continues to devote his career to defending the rights and liberties of individuals throughout Miami-Dade County.
